A Love Language:
I love the weekly art challenges from Paris Collage Collective, but I wish I didn’t need to post my art on social media to submit my work to them. Most of the time my art is just a way to let out energy- not for any particular audience. Their challenge this week reminds me of this painting/collage I did last year.

33 is my birthday - March 3 . I read in numerology it represents a Master Number/Master Teacher - holding the energies of compassion, inspiration, and courage. All qualities that I am determined to cultivate at this point in my life.
Self-Compassion - (gentleness) How are you talking to yourself? Are you showing yourself the grace and understanding you show to your loved ones? The more awareness I have with my self-talk, the more I notice how unconscious the negative thoughts are. People are so quick to be like “I’m so dumb” or “I’m so stupid” - it takes practice to stop and choose a nicer word to describe yourself, but it gets easier. The negative thoughts won’t stop, but you can learn to pause, pivot and change directions in your mind.
Inspiration - What makes you feel alive? What tickles your imagination and gives you ideas beyond what you think is possible? What things make you want to risk it all or to dust yourself off and try again? Be conscious of the media you are consuming, but follow what fascinates you.
Courage - the threshold between negative and positive emotions. With courage, we still have fear, but at the same time, we know we can still get through it.
Sometimes I feel like an earth alien because there have been many times where I felt different and that I don’t belong. As an adult, it now feels like a super power to be your true, authentic self and those are the people who inspire me.
I’ve been seeing and hearing the word “curiosity” a lot when it comes to doing healing work. This week, my yoga instructor talked about the idea that our true essence is a gift inside of a box, that’s hidden inside of another box, inside of another, like a Russian doll. She encouraged us to do a “self-study” on opening those boxes, which are layers of old programing, perceptions, and ideas we’ve learned throughout our lives - some of which we should let go if they no longer align with our soul.
Don’t stop learning and questioning - there is a whole world inside of you and a whole planet to explore.
